MODTECH Holdings, Inc., was recently awarded a contract for portable and pre-engineered buildings through RFB 2005-003. MODTECH was founded in 1982 to purchase unfinished and outdated classroom shells and to perform installation work. They then changed the business to designing, manufacturing, marketing, and installing classroom and other custom modular projects. Since that time, MODTECH has grown to become the premier modular building manufacturer in the country. In February 1999, MODTECH merged with SPI Holdings Inc., a Colorado corporation that designs and manufactures commercial and light industrial modular buildings in Arizona, Texas, and California. In March 1999, they acquired Coastal Modular Buildings, Inc., and in March 2001, acquired Innovative Modular Structures. Both companies were based in central Florida. All the acquired companies have been fully integrated into MODTECH Holdings, Inc. MODTECH Holdings is a publicly-traded NASDAQ company that currently has in excess of 1,000 full-time employees including engineers, architects, estimators, construction managers, project managers, field superintendents, electricians, plumbers, carpenters, welders, and other trade-specific personnel.
