Facility Managers' Workshop to Be Held November 11-12

CES' annual Facility Managers' Training Workshop will be held Thursday, November 11, and Friday, November 12, at the Hilton Albuquerque. A pre-session and dinner will also be held Wednesday, November 10.

On Wednesday, Edward Springer of Hartford Steam Boilers will present the boiler seminar from 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at CES (click here for directions). Continuing Education Units will be available for seminar attendees through the University of New Mexico.

Wednesday evening, two complimentary dinners will be held. Fleming Chemical Company will host attendees at their office on Monroe NE. Burgers, beverages, and product demos will be available.

SchoolDude.com will host a dinner and users meeting at the Hilton Albuquerque for current members as well as representatives from schools interested in learning more about SchoolDude.

Four pre-sessions will be held Thursday morning:

  • Introduction to Computers - Scott Carpenter of SchoolDude.com will demonstrate how computers are revolutionizing school maintenance. The session will provide an easy way to absorb the fundamentals needed to become a computer user.
  • The Science of Nature - Steven Moore, founder and managing director of Organic Technology International, will explain how water usage on school recreational fields can be reduced by up to 60% while maintaining healthy vegetation.
  • Claiming Techniques for School Custodians - Fleming Chemical Company's suppliers will discuss environmentally-friendly products, maintaining wood floors, and preventative maintenance.
  • Automation, Energy Management, and Security Monitoring for Schools - Jack McGowan of Energy Control, Inc., will discuss how to automate and centralize energy and security systems and fire alarms.
